During my stay, the traditional Japanese style room was spacious, and the futon beds provided an exceptional night’s sleep. The location was ideal, within walking distance of Gion and Pontocho Alley, making it convenient for exploring. I appreciated the prompt service from the staff, especially during room service when we ordered wine and tea.
The dining options included some dishes that did not align with my palate.

Staying at Tazuru was a delightful experience. The room was spacious with tatami flooring and a traditional Japanese table that added to the authentic atmosphere. I especially loved the separate bedroom that provided extra privacy. The two bathrooms were a fantastic bonus, making it convenient for the family. Enjoying the common baths in the evenings was a highlight. it felt very relaxing after a long day of exploring Kyoto. The breakfast was gorgeous and felt like a feast, beautifully presented with a variety of traditional dishes. Staff were very attentive and helped organize taxi rides, ensuring communication with drivers went smoothly. However, I found the air conditioning unit a bit challenging to operate since the controls were in Japanese. This complicated our temperature adjustments during the night, leading to some discomfort. Despite this, the charm of Tazuru and its amenities overshadowed the minor inconvenience with the air conditioning. I would definitely return for another stay.

We loved every moment of our 2-night family stay in the Japanese-Style Twin Room. The sights from our room, especially the view of the river, were simply breathtaking—perfect for enjoying breakfast! The separate bedrooms provided much-needed privacy for us adults, and the tatami room allowed for a unique, authentic experience.

Group adventures worth checking out
Great location! I mean, everything is right outside your door. The staff helped us with our bags, and daily they left a lovely tea set with hot water and quality tea. Felt like home, such a warm energy there! I really loved the traditional bath robes, just perfect to relax in.
Not the cheapest place around, but honestly it felt worth it.

The view from our room's balcony was breathtaking, showcasing Kiyomizu Temple in the distance. I also enjoyed a soothing massage and a relaxing foot bath during my stay. The only downside was that the furniture felt a bit worn, but it didn’t take away from the overall charm! 😊

We had a fantastic time staying here with our group of friends! The location was perfect, close to many bars and shops. The staff were super friendly and attentive, making us feel welcomed every day. The tea set they left in our room was a lovely touch, and sleeping on the futons was super comfy. Don't miss the shared onsens!
We wanted to try the dining options, but they weren't very appealing to us. We couldn't experience breakfast or dinner here.
